OKBET MLB Betting Update: World Series Mvp Favorite Yordan Alvarez Is Bryce Harper’s Most Popular Bet

The final chapter of the Major League Baseball season begins on Friday, with the Houston Astros installed as heavy favorites to win the World Series against the surprising Philadelphia Phillies. The Astros are -190 to win the World Series, while the Phillies are +155. Of course, you can bet on the World Series outcome in advance or on a game-by-game basis. You can also wager on who you believe will win World Series MVP. Those bets have higher payouts, but they are obviously more difficult to predict.

Alvarez is the favorite, but Harper is the most popular bet

With the Houston Astros favored to win the World Series, it’s no surprise that the Astros’ World Series MVP is also an Astro.

Yordan Alvarez has the best odds of winning the MVP at +600. During the regular season, Alvarez had the second-best OPS in baseball, trailing only Aaron Judge. Alvarez had a.306 batting average, 37 home runs, and 97 RBIs. The playoffs have been a bit more difficult for him, but he still has an OPS of.889 to this point.

Alvarez is the favorite to win the award with 7.8% of bets and 8.6% of the money. That is the second-most bets and the third-highest betting handle of any player in the series.

Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies is the overwhelming favorite to win the award. Harper has been on a tear in the playoffs, batting.419 with five home runs and 11 RBIs. Through three series, he has an incredible 1.351 OPS. He was named NLCS MVP as a result of his efforts.

Harper is a +700 favorite to win World Series MVP, and bettors love him at that price. Harper has received more than 27% of the bets and money placed prior to Game 1. No other player received more than 12% of the wagering handle.

Castellanos receives a large wager

One bettor will be overjoyed if Nick Castellanos is named World Series MVP.

Earlier in the playoffs, one bettor bet 40-to-1 on Nick Castellanos to win World Series MVP. The bettor put up $5,000. The bet will pay out $200,000 if Castellanos wins the award. Castellanos is currently 25-to-1 to be named World Series MVP.

Castellanos had a bad season, and it showed in the playoffs. Castellanos is batting.220 in the postseason with no home runs. During the regular season, he hit only 13 home runs and had an OPS of less than.700.

The potential for Castellanos to have a big series is undeniable. Castellanos batted.309 with the Reds last season, hitting 34 home runs and driving in 100 runs. He was one of baseball’s best hitters. If Castellanos can maintain that level for a few days here, he could be an MVP candidate. However, Castellanos has received only 2.7% of all bets.
